Christian McCaffrey is shutting down beef claims with Cam Newton.
The former Carolina Panthers quarterback—who played alongside Christian from 2017 to 2019 and 2021—recently made waves for complaining he was not invited to the running back’s June 29 wedding to Olivia Culpo.
“Damn CMAC, I couldn’t get an invite,” Cam Newton told co host Omari Collins as he looked at photos from Christian’s big day in the July 10 podcast clip. “Typical CMAC looking like f--king James Bond. I wanted to be there, bro. From that photograph it looked like they needed some color in that motherf--ker anyway.”
The 35-year-old continued to jokingly play up his resentment toward not getting an invite.
“Do I come off as angry?” Cam joked. “Finally. Like, I’m really bitter. Now somebody can say, ‘you look like your bitter bro,’ I am bitter. Well, congratulations Olivia McCaffrey and Christian.”
This caught the attention of Christian who recounted a conversation he had at his wedding with another Panthers alum, Greg Olsen.
“Me: *Talking to Greg at the bar ‘This was a great night, but you know what would’ve made it even better,’” Christian wrote in an Instagram comment underneath the podcast clip. “Greg: ‘What?’ Me: ‘If Cam were here. I haven’t gotten a text back in 4 years. In fact, they just go green now.’”
The 28-year-old further expressed that he’s only heard from his former teammate “once” on Instagram during that time.
“‘Why don’t he love me, man?’” the San Francisco 49ers star wrote before jokingly adding an imagined supercut. “Camera cuts to highlights of Cam and Christian together while ‘With Arms Wide Open’ by Creed plays. Scene.”
Turns out, that lighthearted exchange from the pair may have been all they needed to clear the air. After Christian comments about not getting answers, Cam was quick to lock in those digits.
“What number do you have?!” Cam responded. “Share it here. Lol. Love.”
While Cam may have missed out on Olivia and Christian’s Rhode Island nuptials, keep reading to see what the newlyweds were up to in the days before the ceremony.
Olivia Culpo and Christian McCaffrey set off on a private plane ahead of their wedding in June 2024.
"Let it begin," the beauty queen captioned the June 24 photos of their grand send-off.
Olivia, 32, and Christian, 28, celebrated their takeoff by locking lips on the jet, which was decked out in white rose petals.
Naturally, her dog Oliver joined her and the NFL quarterback on the flight ahead of their nuptials.
The couple—who have been dating since 2019—fueled up on chicken lettus wraps and ahi sushi bowls before the big weekend, with Olivia snapping a pic of the menu in front of her white 'fit, including an on-theme Hermes Birkin bag.
The former Miss Universe cooled off in a baby blue bikini by Montce Swim on June 25 as she prepared to kick off the festivities.
